Our prenatal care includes a medical history, complete physical exam, laboratory assessments and regular prenatal check-ups. This process insures that only healthy women are accepted and continue in the program. During visits to our center, the emphasis is on the clients’ needs. Plenty of time is allowed to discuss her concerns. Nutritional and exercise counseling, early and late prepared childbirth classes and breast-feeding preparation, enable the client to participate fully in the pregnancy.


The nurse midwives provide care for the normal, low risk mother during pregnancy and stay with her during labor, providing continuous physical and emotional support. They evaluate and provide immediate care for the newborn, and help the mother care for herself and her infant. Nurse midwives also provide routine well woman gynecology services for non-pregnant women such as yearly pap smears and pelvic exams. Registered nurses with obstetrical experience assist the nurse midwives during birth. Local obstetricians and physicians are available at all times for consultations and emergencies.
